Athletics Overview
Athletics at ArTES Magnet
ArTES Magnet students participate in interscholastic athletics through César Chávez Learning Academies (CCLA). Students have access to a full athletics program while remaining enrolled in ArTES’s arts-integrated, college-preparatory curriculum.
Participation in athletics is open to eligible students and follows LAUSD and CCLA athletic guidelines.
Who Can Participate
To be eligible to participate in athletics, students must:

Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA

Complete and submit a CCLA Athletic Packet

Meet all LAUSD health and eligibility requirements
Eligibility is reviewed regularly throughout the season.

All student-athletes must submit a completed Athletic Packet, which includes:

Parent/Guardian Consent Form

Concussion Information Form

Athlete Code of Conduct

LAUSD Physical Examination Form

Photo Release Form
-
Additional sport-specific forms (if applicable)
Athletic packets must be completed before participation in practices or games.
College & NCAA Eligibility
CCLA schools are college-preparatory, aligned with UC/CSU A–G requirements.
Student-athletes complete coursework that meets NCAA core course expectations, supporting future college athletic eligibility when applicable. Click on the NCAA button for more information.
